Library Systems and Services, LLC Implements Edelweiss+Analytics
Near real-time market data from Above the Treeline now supports collection management at LS&S’s 82 public libraries
ANN ARBOR, MI – Above the Treeline announces a three-year agreement to provide Library Systems and Services, LLC (LS&S) with its Edelweiss+Analytics collection management product. LS&S is enhancing collection management in the 82 public libraries it operates by implementing Edelweiss+Analytics. The rollout of the new analytics system will begin with several libraries in California.
Edelweiss+Analytics gives libraries real-time access to data and analytics to compare their library circulation and holdings, including pre-publication orders, to peer libraries and previously unavailable retail sales data. Libraries can use the data to manage their collection and better anticipate patron demand.
“Book retailers are an important bellwether for knowing what titles and other materials are popular,” says Steve Coffman, vice president of library services at LS&S. “With Edelweiss+Analytics we no longer need to make purchasing or inventory decisions based on historical reports because we get immediate insight into what book readers like and can accommodate their needs quickly.”
“Edelweiss+Analytics provides the power of our market data, easy-to-understand analytics, and deep understanding of the demand side of the book industry to enhance collection management systems,” said John Rubin, CEO of Above the Treeline. “We’re excited to partner with LS&S to strengthen their libraries’ ability to serve their patrons even better through benchmarking against other public libraries, insight from retail sales, and unparalleled frontlist and backlist title data.”
